Mass. infertility/pregnancy insurance companies(mandated)?
Ok well I have pcos, but it is easily treated with Clomid and i know how that all works. I know mass is the closest and one of the states that have passed a law making it mandatory that any health insurance that covers pregnancy also has to cover the cost of infertility treatment suck as in vitro and sperm retrieval(for a man that has had a vasectomy). I am wondering if you know the names of any health insurance companies that cover pregnancy and I am wondering if know the over all cost for this insurance will be??? thank you! Please no comments about no insurance companies cover this, because they do! If you dont know then please do not post an answer thank you!
I’m not sure where you’re from but check out this article I wrote on infertility coverage. I live in CT where they do mandate infertility coverage after you’ve been insured for a year. 15 states mandate infertility coverage, including MA, NY, CT and RI. Many of the states that mandate coverage are in the Northeast, though not every state covers in-vitro fertilitization (IVF) or sterilization reversal. If you live in a state that doesn’t mandate coverage there are many companies that still cover fertility costs (banks tend to be one of them). Hope this helps and good luck!!
